OK, OK, OK...

I brought my camera in today to upload the pics from the BIG birthday party and... the battery died on my camera. So, whoever is waiting for new pics and video... I DON'T have it YET! SORRY!

BUT... I do have some pics from Becky B's birthday tw weekends ago. Laura H. you were a little tipsy that day so you might not recognize yourself, but you should know that you are the crazy, food stealing bee-yatch scarfing down food at lightning speed. Enjoy the photos!

One Year and One Day!

Dylan had his 12-month check up today and it went great!
He weighs 20 lbs and 1 oz (10th %tile) and he's 31.25 inches long (90th %tile).
He currently has 8 teeth, the eighth just popped thru in the last few days... also, his gums are pretty swollen because his MOLARS are trying to come in too.

He was very brave today and did great while the doctor examined him. He got three shots. The MMR (measels/mumps/rhubella), the chicken pox vaccine, and a booster of another one.

The doctor says he can eat anything now except shellfish and nuts and that we can start him on whole milk or 2% or even soymilk, so we'll have to see what he likes. Also, since we have well water the doctor gave us a prescription for flouride.

I thought this doctors visit was great. It was the first time we had seen Dr. Knold, but he had met us in the hospital when Dylan was born. He was the on-call doctor for the maternity ward that day. What I really liked about today's visit was that he took the time to talk with us for awhile and gave us a LOT of warnings about safety issues around the house... like cooking on the burners on the back of the stove, turning the pot/pan handles away from the edge of the stove. He said tons of kids just run their hands along the part of the counter they can reach and get knives and burns that way. He said that children this age have NO sense of cause and effect, so Dylan doesn't know that he can get hurt by falling down the stairs or touching a HOT pan will burn him. He basically said that we cannot take our eyes off him!

Birthday Cake!

We had a great time last night! We got pizza from Squisito and the Cronin family came by for the evening. Dylan had his very first birthday cake and smashed it to bits. He seemed to really enjoy the cake and singing and all that... he'll be a pro by the big party this Saturday.

The birthday girl and birthday boy!

Dylan digging in...

I think he likes it!

We got Dylan a Baby Pool... the Lighthouse Boat Race Pool to be exact. It was an immediate hit, except for the fact that the boat race part kept deflating. Dylan and Kaleigh and Connor loved it anyway! It was HOT last night!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DYLAN!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DYLAN (& ME)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DYLAN (& ME)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR DYLAN (& ME-EEEEEEEE)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DYLAN & ME!!!!

It's hard to believe that it was ONLY a year ago that I had Dylan?! He's made my life so much fuller and happier. It's still pretty crazy to me that I had him on my birthday too. I don't mind sharing.

ANOTHER BABY! (NO! I'm not pregnant!)

Our friends Scott and Amelia had their baby yesterday. A GIRL! Everyone said she was having a boy, so there goes being able to tell just by looking at someone. Anyway, congrats to them and welcome to the world Lucia Elizabeth Butera. Hopefully I can get some stats on her, so far I just have her name.

OK, so have a great day!

I have a new BFF, her name is Tanya...

I found Tanya on Craigslist and she's my new BFF because she is selling me her 2007 Zooper Waltz Stroller. OMG! I love this stroller! Unfortunately, at $300 plus brand new, it was a no-go. Sniff :(

So, I've been stalking the local Craigslists for months hoping that someone would sell one and FINALLY it happened!! Thankfully (or luckily) I was the first to reply. Emily is going to pick it up for me next week (it's in VA near Dulles) and I'll have it for Dylan's BIG birthday bash!! Here she is...

(the stroller, not Tanya) Zooper 2007 ~ Waltz

I won't go into all of the features of this thing, but I will tell you that it has an aluminum frame with front/rear suspension and only weighs 16 lbs, it works for newborns and toddlers up to 45 lbs, the canopy can be completely pulled down and the stroller folds flat, stands alone when folded and rolls when folded. She's the bomb! Oh, did I mention that it also comes with a HUGE Storage basket, a canopy pocket, a parent cup holder, UV glare filter AND a rain cover, and full boot (covers the tootsies in winter). All that and she ONLY weighs 16 lbs. Isn't she DREAMY?!?!

When I asked Tanya why she was selling it... she told me she loved it soooo much, she HAD to HAVE the 2008 version! How funny is that? OK, so I just looked at the 2008 version and I see WHY. They managed to actually improve this thing ;) Ok, so Tanya if you read this, I'd like dibbs on the 2008... whenever the 2009s come out ;)

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!

Who doesn't love a SWING? Dylan LOVES IT!

We had a very nice dinner at the Beach on Wednesday night. Steven made (sorry you couldn't be there) Rockfish topped with crab imperial, Steamed spiced shrimp, chicken/rice casserole, and rissotto. MMM. Did I mention we had corn-on-the-cob and salad too? ... or how about the Pinot Grigio? Damn we were spoiled! All Dylan got was a jar of broccoli, carrots & cheese.

We had a great time watching the sailboats with Grammies and Brent (yes, he left the county!), my mom and dave, and Erica too.

Here is the motage, because what occasion could go by without a montage...

July 16th 2007 - What we're YOU Doing???

OK, so I don't remember this day exactly, but I can tell you...

I was 39 weeks and 3 days pregnant!

I was definitely TIRED! I was definitely ANXIOUS!
I was definitely HOT! My ankles were TOTALLY swollen!

I was HUGE and I needed documented proof of my enormous self...

So, without further ado...

DRUMROLL PLEASE...

That was the last shot of my pregnancy belly!

I only got a 6 lb, 12 oz baby out of there? CRAZY!

ONE WEEK TO GO!

Not too much to report this week. The 'glue' is still on Dylan's head and I wish it would start to come off now! Amy and the Cronin Family are on a nice vacation and so that means that Dylan is spending the week with Grammies! They are having a great time! Dylan's birthday (and mine) is only 6 days away! Soo exciting!

Thursday, July 10

Happy Thursday!

I don't have much to report other than it's summer. Reilly Cronin is coming to stay with us while the 'people' Cronins go on vacation. Roxy and Reilly... look out Beverley Beach!

Update on Marli - Good News!!!

The back story here is that Marli had been having headaches. The last time Kathy reported it to her doctors they said Marli would have to come in for some tests if she has anymore... which she did. Headaches are a sign of possible cancer recurrence. Today Marli had a bone marrow aspiration and spinal tap. The results just came in:

There are NO CANCER CELLS at all!! So, we can take a sigh of relief!! The doctors just have to figure out why she had a couple of headaches. Today and tomorrow she’ll be 'Princess' Marli. She has to lie very still; luckily she can eat and has requested several meals already this afternoon.

Kathy is already referring to her as Her Majesty!!!

Thanks for the prayers, everyone!

Happy 4th of JULY!

We had a busy, long weekend! It was a great time! We spent the 3rd/4th with the oliver/cronin families and then we hung out with the rieger's on the 5th/6th. It was nice to spend quality time with everyone!

I'm just going to attach one photo of Dylan and update this post tomorrow with the photo montage etc. Seriously, even with the band-aid this kid is super adorable!

Here is another one sans band-aid. Dylan is fine, but I think the glue is starting to get itchy...

Beach time with The CRONINS!

An extra special THANK YOU to KALEIGH CRONIN!!

Kaleigh got Dylan to sit in the sand and play in the water... WOOHOO!! I didn't get many photos because I was nervous about the interaction of a camera and sand/water, but we got a few good ones.

Here is a great one of Kaleigh/D-Love:

And here is the short photo-montage:

Baby Super Glue

We had our first hospital worthy accident yesterday and I'm still feeling pretty terrible about it... It went down like this:

I had just changed Dylan's diaper and I put him on the floor to play while I grabbed an outfit out of the closet. I knew Dylan was fine playing in the corner of his room with a stack of baby books. All of the sudden I hear him screaming and I think to myself "What? Did you pinch your finger in a book?" So, I turn around to look at him and I see blood coming out of his head... like dripping down his face and everything. HOLY CRAP! So I scream for Steven and go to pick Dylan up... that's whan I see it. He must have pulled on the cord of the sound machine and that's what him in the head. OUCH! Bad mommy! I usually have the cord tucked away so he can't see it, but since he was asleep when we came home the other night, I just set it on the shelf and plugged it in. So, steven took him to get stitches this morning, but they ended up using 'super glue' (the medical kind) it instead. They said it would leave less of a scar. It's a cut about an inch long, maybe less. I swear... I baby proofed that room like a mad woman and I 'knew' there was nothing for him to get hurt on in there. It's such a bummer and I'm so mad at myself. I know it's going to leave a scar, but I'm hoping it's not too bad. I just wish it wasn't in such a visable spot.
