Memorial Day/Weekend

We had Mike (Steven's brother) and his friends come to visit from Michigan and that was a really fun time. We had awesome weather and 'the men' went charter fishing and caught a ton of Rockfish. YUM. We also spent some quality time with the rest of the family too, which was really nice. Apparently, Dylan doesn't seem to like the beach or the Bay?? How is that possible??

We spent Sunday with Peepo and G-Daddy (my Mom and Dave) at Pirates Cove in Galesville and it was a RGT (Rockin' Good Time)!

Here is a great photo of Dylan and his Uncle Mike:

Baptism Outfit - Hey, It Fits!

May

We've been really busy, so I'm trying to get as much added to the blog as possible. What can i say? He's crawling and cruising and popping out teeth... he's also sleeping thru the night, so we're LOVING that!!

Steven and I had a fantastic time in Cost Rica and we're really looking forward to Brad and Brooke's wedding in June and for the Birth of Baby Alex Rimmer any day now. Come on Alex, we're dying to meet you already!

Let's see, Dylan had his 9 month appointment at the end of April and he was:
17 LBS 04 OZS, 28.75 INCHES - That's 5th %tile and 60th %tile

Raise your hand if you had a birthday in May...

Foxy Roxy is 4 years old!!

Dylan's first fall... we got it on video?!?!?!

Dylans first little injury (I'm sure it won't be the last...) We had just tried on his baptism outfit and he went to the front door to chat-up some neighbors passing by, so I thought that would be a great time to catch his baby-babble on film. My mom and I are standing there and Steven is yelling to Dylan from the other room. I didn't get a single second of his babbling on film, but I did get him crashing into the bookcase :( Sorry Buddy!

Here is a nice picture of the bruise/ bump that showed up about 15 seconds later. I cannot tell you how much Dylan enjoyed the ice we kept on his head ;).

February!

February has been an interesting month...

Dylan has had so many firsts, it's hard to keep track. He is sitting up pretty much by himself almost all the time... he tips over occasionally, but he's getting really good at it. He's holding his own bottle now, which I discovered he could do on Feb 13th when I was giving him some formula and got annoyed by his thrashing arms... so I let the bottle go and guess who caught it??? Feb 14th we sat him in his high chair for the first time so he could have valentines dinner with us! Steven made us steaks and shrimp and salad and it was d-lish! Dylan had bananas. I got Dylan a super cute new outfit for valentines day see below. His onsie says 'stud muffin' and it's freaking adorable. I had to get it in 0-3months size, but not to worry... it made it fit.

We are going on a trip in April, to Costa Rica and we are soo excited about it... and soooo dreading leaving D-love for a whole week. What was I thinking?? OK, so back to the excitement part. We're going with 17 other friends and it is going to be a blast!!

We visited Pop/Grammies/Brent this past Saturday and it was nice to see them. Pop is doing excellent and he even got out of bed for a bit to hang out with us. He's 1/2 way thru his treatments.

Dylan and I visited Uncle TJ at his new house in Abingdon on Monday (the holiday). He made us lunch and showed us all the work he had done around the place. The new hardwood floors look awesome and all the new furniture is really nice. We can't wait to jump in the pool this summer.

I FINALLY got Dylan to sleep in a sleep sack!! (i.e. not swaddled in a straight jacket) I wasn't expecting him to enjoy swaddling so much. At any rate. I sewed the arms shut and tightened the neck hole and he slept thru the night last night. OK, so it's close to swaddling, but not the same. I guess we are taking baby steps here. Did I mention that he is drooling like a mo'-fo'. It is crazy. I guess he is working on some teeth, we're waiting for their arrival. I'm thinking March is the month for that

Dylan went for his 6 month doctor appointment last week. He weighed in at 15 lbs and is 26 inches long. He's in the 5th/15th percentile; the doc said he is perfect. I asked if I should be concerned about the whole 5th percentile thing and she said no... and added that "there are a lot of over-fed babies out there" OK, so we'll go with that! He's perfection to me! He got 4 shots that day and that sucked. I decided to take him to Sears to get some professional pictures taken, but i guess that was a bad idea... he was in no mood to smile. I got one pic with a 1/2 smile and ALL the rest had pursed lips and a worried forehead. Either way I managed to spend $60 in pictures; he's worth it!

Dylan has been eating solid foods for awhile now. His favorites are peaches, bananas, green beans and peas. Everyone said that if I gave him bananas first he'd never eat the veggies. Wrong! I think he actually prefers the green beans and peas. He also getting formula every day now, so the pressure is off of me to pump enough everyday and he's definitely getting his vitamin D and Iron, so I'm looking at it as a positive. I'm still pissed that he had three colds and was exclusively breastfed... isn't the whole immunity thing the reason for doing all this breastfeeding/pumping. Aarrgghh. OK, so i digress. Back to d-love, he is at a super fun age right now. Not big enough or mobile just yet, but you can see his interest in everything around him. He smiles all the time... even in his sleep.

Wilmington, NC

We went to North Carolina this past holiday weekend and Dylan got to meet some family for the first time... his Great-Grandma Ann, and his Great Aunt and Uncle, Mary & Kenny. He also met Marcia, Leland, Brandi & Danielle. We got to hang out with Uncle Mike who was driving back from Florida and stopped in Wilmington for a day and we hung out with Kelly & Jacob too. Phew, that summed up a LOT of activity! We are looking forward to getting Dylan baptized in the next few months, so everyone can stop asking us about that too.

I'm attaching links to shutterfly pictures, so enjoy!
